'The Maharashtra government' has now extended the last date for applying the girl-sister scheme. This scheme aims to improve the lives of poor women in the state so they can get financial help. Now, if a woman has not applied before or been unable to do so for some reason, she can apply till October. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has extended the date so that the benefits of this scheme can reach more and more women.
The scheme was introduced in the interim budget of Maharashtra for 2023-2024. Married, widowed, divorced, or destitute women between the ages of 21 and 65 can 'apply'. Apart from this, unmarried members of the family can also take advantage of this scheme.
